I want to start my week off contemplating what I am thankful for. I often struggle with being satisfied in the current moment. I am always looking ahead to trips, or a different stage in life or the next design project. I can use clever names like "goal setting" or "ambition" to disguise my longing for the next best thing. Most of the time the motive behind my unsatisfaction is selfishness and I know I am called to more.
However, I am a work in progress and I know contentment is learned.
"I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength." Philippians 4:11-13
So here's what I'm thankful for today:
1. My simple life. I spent yesterday reading a novel and napping with Tony and Buster. I was grateful for the rest and zero commitments.
2. My gardenias started to bloom. They smell so heavenly and soon we're going to have a bushes full of them!

3. Blogs. You bloggers fuel so much creativity. Blogs are an endless source of ideas and inspiration. I feel bad for people that are not tapped into this little network.
4. Family. Nanu, parents, siblings & in-laws. I never feel alone or that people aren't looking after me. I am very grateful to have their support.
5. New Opportunities.
