Pleats!

I love a good box pleat. My style is pretty much texture over pattern and this dollop of detail makes me smile.

I've been working on a project I hope to post soon that is full of box pleats.

Fabric and Song Sharing.

My best friend just had her kitchen renovated. She worked with a whole team of professionals from Storetech + Co in Delray Beach, FL. She entertained my ideas and included me in the decision-making process. I really only affirmed the great decisions she was already making.

The before:

The after:

She forwarded me a link to custom roman shades on etsy and I fell for the lobsters ( now available at Chrysalis in Tallahassee, and I am wondering where I can put this fabric in my house).

I still love the fioretto fabric that is in my sunroom.
She did not end up buying either because she wanted more color, so I sewed her two panels for her kitchen window in the Robert Allen ikat fabric. I forgot to take a picture, but I'll post an after when they are hung.

I wanted to share a song with you that has been stuck in my head for 2 months and its so timely with the Easter weekend. If I was in charge of worship music I would play this and get it stuck in everyone's head and heart.

Inspiration

I have been itching to start a new project around the house because, thank God, the kitchen has been up and running. I'm thinking of making an upholstered headboard for the guest room, more on that later.

I cannot help but try to create or recreate live-able spaces. It's in my nature- I will not fight it. It can get annoying and almost out of control. For example, while I was sitting in church I kept sketching out simple ways to update the church. I wanted to focus on the sermon but all I could do was envision a more attractive, lighter looking space. {which potentially could attract some brides to get married at our church, thus bringing in some side revenue} I doubt that is a priority or in the budget for CenterPoint- so I threw that sketch away.

Anyways today I was inspired by Jenny's project {the Little Green Notebook} I've mentioned my love for Ikat fabric and there is a perfect amount packed into this console table.

please enjoy.

Ikat.

I am on a quest for some ikat fabric. I like the pictures below because there are only 2 colors involved in the patterns. I am an ikat wanna-be. I do not want 3-6 Aztec colors going on, nor do I want my house to look like an African safari. Just give it to me simple and with a punch of color.

The heels are just for fun- I'd break my two-toned-color-rule for those!
