Since our massive kitchen renovation is behind us I have been thinking about smaller customization projects around the house that will not break the bank, but will still allow me to do something creative.
In our bedroom we have vinyl roll down shades that allow us to sleep in on Saturday mornings. They were one of the first purchases when we moved in and I until recently I have not thought twice about changing them. Enter this creative blog world.

Hello Gorgeous posted an imperial trellis stencil tutorial that she used as "wallpaper"
Stunning.
Southern Living also provided a stencil shade tutorial.

you should totally do it! and i can't wait to see how it looks :) oh and in that picture you commented about on my blog, that is the detail in the console....it is an amazing piece!
That will be a great project! xo
Those stencils are awesome! I used them and I highly recommend "the knot" featured in the Southern Living article. I actually posted on my own "knot" stenciling experience! It is not nearly as difficult to do as I anticipated. Hope this inspires you! Good luck!

I saw that shade in Southern Living too - it's such a great idea!! And it looks like it wouldn't be that hard to do!
I've been trying to think of a place to use a roller shade now. ;-)
I love this idea and am looking for a fun shade for our powder room. Will wait to see how yours turns out :)
