Basket

Recently I've been drawn to these pigeon crate ottomans. However, I'm having a hard time locating a store or a dealer that does not charge $1,000 for them. {Update- Brooke from Velvet & Linen knows where to buy them - still they are not in my budget, but at least we have a source}
It looks to me like an easy enough do it yourself, DIY, project. Add some casters. Add a glass top- call it a day. So I turn to google and ebay. There are some interesting search results for pigeon crate, pigeon basket, pigeon ottoman...but I know pigeon is the key word for this search because I read the description in an old Cottage Living magazine.

The search came up dry for me, but I did discover the most interesting building in Newark, Ohio. Behold the Longaberger Company. Guess what they sell...

You really can create anything your heart desires.

Is that a real place, how fun. I love them too, I am determined to find one on the cheap though.

Girl, DIY!!! You can surely do that. I love that idea... Wish I could make it work in my house. But couldn't you just see my kids riding around on that! Love the basket building.

There is something terribly wrong about that! They probably make you dream about baskets if you work for them.
