Lately.

I've been a bad, bad blogger. Forgive me, there has been a lot going on recently and I have not been able to keep track via the blog.

First thing, I spent 4 days with my parents in Destin. The weather was nothing short of glorious and like all vacations my mom goes on, she is ready to pack up and move. Hey, I would love for them to be closer to us and to be on those sugar sand beaches. It was a very sweet time.

Second, I like to read Gwyneth Paltrow's blog GOOP from time to time. It's nice to know celebrities like blogging too. I read an article a while back about a hair mask where you soak your dry tips in olive oil and leave the oil in all day to nourish your hair. I did this while I was in the sun, I figured there was no better time to look so greasy than being on vacation at the beach. My mom thought I was the most disgusting thing around but I'll tell you it quenched my hair and there is no frizz. If you can manage to have your head wrapped I think you'll like it.

Third, my husband's grandfather passed away yesterday. The end is so bittersweet. I am positive Norm was welcomed in heaven with a "well done my good and faithful servant."
{there's Norm with my sister in law, Kristen, Thanksgiving 2008}
I keep praying for Tony's dad, the aunts and uncles, siblings and his grandmother. We're going to Kentucky tomorrow for the funeral which will be emotional. Tony's dad is leading the service. He is a pastor (dare I say of a very kick ass church, Seven Rivers Presbyterian, which I love visiting. The community is so warm and inviting and God always feels so near during worship there. If you want you can listen to some sermons here)
We will rejoice that he is home with our Lord. I rejoice for the man he was to have raised his sons and daughter to be so loving and respectful. In turn, my husband has been raised to be a godly man that I am lucky to share my life with.

1 Peter 1:8-9 "though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls."

I am sorry to hear that, but Heaven is a mighty fine place I am sure.
