Living Vicariously in NYC

I had a great friend and house guest from the Big Apple stay with me a couple weeks back. She left me with an incredible gift, ginger syrup.

At first I didn't really get it- like "Thanks but what in the world will I use this for?" Then she shared the story with me.

This brother and sister duo, Tyler and Kari Morris, are passionate about food; particularly the local, fresh and organic kind. They created this ginger syrup that can be added to tea, club soda, cookies and chicken. (more recipes here). They hand pour each bottle and letterpress each label. Look at my number.

I almost hesitate to use it because it feels like a collectors item.

I immediately added it to club soda and savored the goodness. It wasn't too sweet like bottled ginger ale can be, it was simply refreshing. I do not think they are taking online orders, so I'm sorry to share a cool product without a way for you to buy it. But, if you live around my area, come over and I will pour you a crisp glass. {or my husband will pour you his drink of choice: Crown Royal + ginger syrup/club soda}

Tyler and Kari, I wish you the best of luck. Your product and your packaging are awesome and I hear your supper club is one of the best things in the City. I hope Oprah discovers you!

Thanks for the sweet post and wonderful photos! Right now there are only a few shops in the New York area that carry the product. I would be happy to arrange a shipment to those interested. I can be reached at www.morriskitchennyc.com
