The husband and I made a list of priorities for the house. Near the top of the list is a new front door. Our house exterior is gray brick, so that leaves a lot of flexibility in the color we can use. Below are some images that I love. 
To color or not to color? I could easily go neutral (dark gray with great unlaquered brass hardware) or infuse a burst of color and give it some charm (with great hardware).

our home is dark grey with white trim, and we used to have a yellow door (behr "yellow rose"), which i LOVED.
we got new doors, which are stained beautifully, so no fun color anymore. (yay and boo at the same time! :)
the pink door makes me swoon every time i see that picture! LOVE IT. what do you think the chances are that tony would go for pink? ;)

Wow, those colors are great. Changing the color of your front door will be challenging. Choose the color wisely; otherwise it might standout too much like a sore thumb. The color of my front door is aqua blue.
How about a tabacco basket door. Great for ventilation.
