A Modern Renovation.

Let's start at the very beginning. In August, I was approached to consult on a kitchen renovation. The couple are newlyweds and they wanted to update their kitchen and make it more functional.
As a lover of traditional kitchens, this was a bit of a challenge for me. I had to set my style aside and consider the desire of the client. The house was built in the 70's and their style tends to be a bit more modern than mine.

I should wait until it's 100% complete, we are getting barstools and a window treatment, but I'm anxious to share this.
Before:
The tile floor was recently replaced and was the only item that had to stay.

After:
I reworked the layout, added the pantry, saved the appliances and gutted the rest.
A few of my favorite features include: the backsplash to the ceiling, the stainless steel farmhouse sink and the oversized pendants with the old school light bulbs.

Brother in law, Bibb, and Tim did the heavy lifting and Robert & Tom with Modern Cabinets did the Cabinets.

That came out so well. Very timeless, but by no means bland. Too many people go with the safest decisions for resale purposes, but I think you struck the perfect balance! Especially love the backsplash tile, and the mix of classic and contemporary elements.

That kitchen is awesome. Is there anything you can't do?

That sink is exactly what I'm looking for-- where is it from? We are building a new house and I LOVE the simple look of that sink.

Callie- the sink is from overstock. They had a lot of great options for wonderful prices.
