Vacation.

We're headed to my favorite farmhouse in Montgomery, AL for a quick three day weekend.

I love this Southern town because the people are ridiculously welcoming; there is plenty of room to let our dog run off his leash; the farmhouse is beyond amazing; there are delicious cheese straws I can't wait to munch on; and I'm hoping to serendipitously run into Bobby McAlpine.

Do you bloggers know of any shops or restaurants we need to visit?

*I ask so many questions of my readers. I want you to know I really appreciate your answers and suggestions. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.

Ciao

Montgomery is my old college town, so this post brought back a flood of fun memories. As far as restaurants go, one of our favorites was always Tomatinos Pizza in Old Cloverdale (easily our favorite part of town; www.tomatinos.com). The shops are really quaint, so it's fun area to just walk around and enjoy. Downtown has some great places to eat too. Hamburger King is the old favorite for a good, messy burger, and Filet & Vine (www.filetandvine.com) is absolutely delicious. Hope you have a very relaxing weekend! I'm jealous of a vacation! :)

Wha?? Montgomery for vacation? I went to college there (with Annie above) and the only thing I can recommend is Cloverdale. That's about all they got (with some cool historical sites).

Montgomery....hmm. I went to college with Katie & Annie! Bandanas is pretty good for a huge slice of cake! The newer downtown area is great! Try Saza's for dinner. It's a great funky italian place....this whole area is being restored. The Riverwalk is beautiful now. It's right near the Biscuits stadium. Enjoy Montgomery! :-)

What do you know!? You are coming to my home! My husband works for the city in downtown development and they are doing wonderful things down there!I suggest eating dinner at Saza's in the Alley or for a nicer dinner check out The Olive Room or Ham and High. For a drink head to Cloverdale and check out the Pine Bar. If it's nice outside you can sit on the patio of The Tipping Point and enjoy their huge beer list. Oh and you can't miss El Rey! Shoot me an email and i'll tell you more! What brings you to Montgomery anyway?!

While we can't promise you Bobby McAlpine (he's out of town), you are welcome to drop by the office of McAlpine Tankersley for a impromptu tour. We're located at 501 Cloverdale Road Suite 201.

This looks like just what the doctor ordered, so rustic, quiet and open. Enjoy the weekend!
